Medigap is a supplemental health insurance policy which extends the amount of health insurance for Medicare eligible recipients. A supplemental health plan is an additional Medicare plan on top of the Original Part A and Part B. Medigap is provided by private health insurance companies such as AARP-United Healthcare, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Mutual of Omaha, Gerber, etc.. A supplemental or Medigap plan provides additional coverage to healthcare deficiencies that you may be exposed to under the Original Medicare Part A and Part B. Within the Medigap policy, there are 12 different standards of health plans. Contact us for more information if you are interested in a Medigap plan.

Some key features to look for include:

  • Hospital:  The policy should adequately cover your room and board plus any
    miscellaneous charges while hospitalized.
  • Surgical:  This benefit pays your surgeons’ fee plus related costs such as
    anesthesiologist.
  • Physician:  Pays for visits by the in-network doctor while confined in the hospital or on an outpatient basis.
  • ER/Urgent Care: Provides adequate coverage in the event of an emergency
  • Ambulance Transport:  Pays for ground as well as air transport to the hospital.
  • Catastrophic Coverage:  The plan should pay a high lifetime maximum to protect you against financial ruin in case of a catastrophic illness or injury
  • Co-insurance Maximums:  Commonly know as a "stop loss" – the plan pays 100% above a certain amount therefore limiting your financial exposure to a reasonable amount.
  • Prescriptions: Offers reasonable co-pays for all 4-tiers of drugs, without a high drug deductible

Still confused?

Purchasing Health Insurance is not quite as easy as pushing a button and out comes an affordable  instant quote.  Some popular web sites do offer instant online quotes, however these quotes are for very basic plans commonly called "loss leaders" with very limited coverage. You will save no money doing an application on-line and very often will mess up the very complicated application resulting in a decline or increased premium.  We offer many plans and you have many excellent choices which ultimately will determine the final premium. Takes about 5 -10 minutes and we do not sell over the phone.

All our quotes are free for the asking, but you must talk to us so we can ask pertinent questions related to your age, sex, medication and overall health status.  We offer many plans and you have many excellent choices which ultimately will determine the final premium. Takes about 5 -10 minutes and we do not sell over the phone.

We are full-service, multi-state licensed insurance agents specializing in finding the best insurance available at an affordable price for the self-employed, independent contractors , small business owners, individuals and their families.

It is our job to work directly with you to find the right policy, with the right coverage, at the right price for you and your family.

Many Americans opt to enroll in Medicare Advantage (Part C), a program which allows you to enroll in private health insurance that offers both Medicare Part A and B benefits. Medicare Advantage plans are not supplemental insurance, but rather health insurance plans of their own. Medicare Advantage can also include prescription drug coverage in addition to vision, hearing, and dental. In most cases, you can join even if you have been diagnosed with a pre-existing condition, except for final stage renal disease. Advantage plans must follow guidelines established by Medicare but also vary in terms of costs and rules.

Similar to Major Medical, but you can take contributions from your HSA for eligible health care expenses tax-free:

Having a qualified, high-deductible health plan (HDHP) in place is a requirement under IRS code 223 to make contributions into a Health Savings Account.  HDHP is simply the acronym for the qualified health insurance plan. Contact us for your health plan options before you attempt to open an HSA.

This plan may be the right plan right choice for people who:

    • Have been denied coverage by an individual major medical plan due to health, pre-existing conditions or hazardous occupation. Guaranteed issue – No medical exams or health history investigation at enrollment.
    • Need a plan with lower monthly premiums that offers day-to-day health care benefits and access to provider discounts.

Would like a plan with first-dollar benefits to supplement a major medical plan with a high deductible or maximum out-of-pocket expenses
